B-T-B graft harvest from patellar tendon

The name comes from the fact that on both sides of the harvested patellar tendon a piece of bone is also harvested - at the top it is a bit from the patellar and at the bottom it is a bit from the tibia.

What is a B-PT-B autograft?

B-PT-B is the gold standard for a graft for reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament. A slice of patellar tendon is harvested from the patient, together with a bit of bone from the patella above and the tibia below - hence the name 'Bone Patellar-Tendon Bone' for the graft construct.
