The hip abduction exercise helps to strengthen the balance and the hip muscles.

Stand upright supporting your one hand on the back of a chair.

Keeping an upright stance, and the weight on the one leg, raise the other leg slowly to the side.

Hold it in this position and then slowly lower it again.

Repeat the sequence 10 times.
