Hoffa fracture is a type of break in the femur bone (thighbone) the rounded condyle at the lower end, in the coronal plane and extending into the joint space.
This fracture can be easily missed with ordinary X-ray views. It is important to bring the broken fragments together surgically and fix them in place with screws.
