Drive-through sign

The drive-through sign is when the arthroscopic surgeon during the arthroscopy sees an abnormally big space at the back of the knee joint on the lateral side.

Significance of the Drive-Through sign

A 'drive-through' sign is an indication of damage to structures in the posterolateral corner of the knee.

Acute avulsion of the popliteus tendon

The gap in the posterolateral corner may be due to acute avulsion of the popliteus tendon from its attachment on the femur.
