Body mass index

Body mass index (BMI) is a ratio of a person's weight to height that has been recognised  by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) and The World Health Organisation as a measure of obesity.

BMI levels

  • BMI < 19 = UNDERWEIGHT
  • 20 - 25 = ACCEPTABLE
  • 26 - 30 = OVERWEIGHT
  • >30 = OBESE
